Riding Establishment Requirements

It is a legal requirement for anyone who charges for horse riding activities (including therapeutic horse riding) to be a licensed Riding Establishment. In order to be licensed we have an annual inspection where all of our horses are checked by a vet to ensure they are healthy (heart, eyes, soundness) and suitable for riding lessons. All of our saddles and bridles are also checked as part of the inspection and we have to meet current health and safety, fire regulations and have strict horse care policies and prodcedures. We are also required to provide proof of our qualifications, insurance and risk assessments for our activities. Our license ensures that we are qualified to run a riding establishment, offer a suitable environment and that our horses and equipment meet the required standards. We are proud to have a five star rated license which means that we meet the higher requirement standards.
